Divine Peace Ministries was founded in 2007 in the Eastern and Northern regions of Uganda when it mobilized a number of volunteers to rescue flood victims as a volunteer group in the names of Christian Efforts for Rural development. In 2009-2010 the organization was recommended to register as a Non-governmental organization by the of office of the Prime Minister, after rendering services to empower children and women who are war victims of the [LRA] The lord Resistance army providing  clothes, food, medicine, shelter and counsel ling  to them. This program was run in Lira district in several former Internally displaced people ‘camps.

In 2011 Divine Peace Ministries was registered as a non-governmental organization, faith based with charity work. The organization having done research on livelihoods of women and children realized that,  most children in the rural war affected areas are Orphans who have lost both parents to wars and due to the wide spread of HIV / AIDS .The organization also discovered that most women were left behind as widows and are helpless ,so Divine Peace Ministries came up with a project of Empowering the Women and children to support themselves by making crafts, ,providing education,. Medic-care. , clothing, shelter, food and counsel ling services to them called the

Living Hope Project.

The Living Hope  project has been a success with help from our donors The ''American Pan-African  Relief Agencies Inc and The Save Humanity Initiative Inc both of the New York ,United States of America and our partner organizations in Uganda who are networking with the Organization to help Aids Orphans and Widows living with HIV /AIDS.
