Finally, we wish to reprint a statement of great importance made by the British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair. His government's stand on the issues of poverty, conflict and disease in Africa are identical to APARA's cause and continuing efforts and are a stark reminder to the World about those in need in Pan-Africa.

"Helping Africa is today's fundamental moral challenge, and I plead with the World to help end poverty, conflict and disease in Africa ... It is, I believe, the fundamental moral challenge of our generation. There can be no excuse, no defense, no justification for the plight of our fellow beings in Africa today.. In a World where prosperity is increasing, it is an obscenity that should haunt our daily thoughts that four million children will die in Africa this year, before their fifth birthday".

Statement of Mr. Tony Blair upon receiving the report of The 17-Member Commission on Widespread Poverty and Economic Stagnation in Africa

APARA, therefore, join with Mr. Blair in appealing to the good, prosperous and generous people of the World, to take action and help the suffering and poverty stricken people of Africa by making your contribution today.
